About Us

On Walnut Street in Manistique, the Elks Lodge has been a gathering place where locals actually know each other by name. Pull up a chair on a Friday night and you'll find a dining room buzzing with conversation, the smell of fresh whitefish coming off the line, and bartenders who remember your usual order.

The Friday Fish Fry is the real draw. Four choices of fish, including local walleye and perch alongside cod and whitefish, served broiled or fried. That kind of selection is rare anywhere, let alone in a small Upper Peninsula town. Pair it with a cold drink and you've got a Friday night worth repeating.

During events like Folk Fest, the Lodge becomes a welcome refuge, offering hot food, cold drinks, and dry seating when the weather rolls in off Lake Michigan. With a 4.4-star rating from 30 members and guests, this is a place that earns its reputation one meal at a time.

What We Offer

The Lodge kitchen turns out honest, well-made food at prices that won't make you wince. The signature Friday Fish Fry features whitefish, cod, walleye, and perch, each available broiled or fried to order, served with sides and a full bar to wash it all down.

Beyond Fridays, the Lodge hosts grilled chicken dinners during local festivals, private event rentals for members, and regular social gatherings that keep the Manistique community connected year-round. The full-service bar keeps the atmosphere relaxed and the conversation flowing.

Membership in the B.P.O. Elks opens the door to a national network of lodges, charitable programs, and local events that give back directly to Schoolcraft County. Whether you're a longtime Elk or curious about joining, the door on Walnut Street is open.

"Stopped for the grilled chicken, they call it bbq chicken, which it isn't IMHO, during Folk Fest as we wanted to eat indoors during the rain and humidity."

"Called ahead at 5pm, and was told "it's better to come in early. Arrived at 5:30... At 7:15, after seeing people who came in after we had ordered get their food, we asked where our food was. Manager(?) came over and asked what she coffee do. Wr said *bring us our food that we ordered over an hour ago. She tried to blame it on a new cook. Finally, the food arrived...fish had definitely been under a warming light. Tartar sauce was basically inedible, just like thr fish. I complained, and her reaction....take $8 off an $18 charge, when the only thing edible was the baked potato. Possibly the WORST food and service I've experienced in over 20 years. When I paid the tab(not tipping due to such poor service) they couldn't wait for me to leave. NEVER GO HERE!!!!"

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
